  • Do you offer custom sizes and designs?

    YES! All of our doors are custom built in our shop to fit your specific door opening and design.

  • What measurements are needed?

  • Will you come to my home/business to measure?

    We offer local on-site measurement consultations for an additional fee based on where you are located. To avoid any fees, feel free to email us photos of your space and we will happily assist virtually!

  • Will a barn door work in my space?

    We offer a variety of different hardware options and customization's, so most likely the answer is YES. Please email us a photo to confirm!

  • Do you remove the door hinges, fill holes, and repaint when you deliver and install my door(s)?

    This is typically a job that is referred out to a contractor. Our expertise remains in the door manufacturing and installation business.

  • Is a header board required?

    A header board is usually required to ensure your sliding door will clear any door trim/molding. If you do not want a header board, please let us know and we can accomodate your request with longer spacers.

  • Will I need a showroom appointment?

    Yes, we encourage all of our clients to make an appointment to visit our showroom for a design consultation. Please click here to schedule an appointment time: Book Appointment. We have example doors on display as well as paint and stain samples to view!

  • Do I need to bring anything to your showroom for my design consultation?

    Please bring all measurements of your space (as listed above), pictures of your space, and any flooring or paint samples you'd like to try to coordinate with your door.

  • How long will it take to get my door(s)?

    All of our doors are hand crafted in our North Kansas City shop so there is some wait time. Our goal is quality craftsmanship which generally takes 6-10 weeks for production time. Freight shipping can add an addition 3-5 business days. All of our times are ESTIMATES and not guaranteed or by any means a commitment. If you need your door quickly please ask about our expedite fee.

  • Is hardware included?

    Yes, all hardware is included with your door purchase unless otherwise noted for special circumstances. Installation instructions are included with your hardware.

  • Do you offer delivery and installation?

    Yes, we offer delivery and installation services priced at $250 for deliveries within 25 miles of our shop! For more information click here.

  • Do you offer shipping?

    Yes! We offer $699 flat rate domestic freight shipping (driveway delivery). For more information click here.

  • How will the freight shipment arrive?

    Your door(s) and hardware will arrive in a wooden crate that is not waterproof and is not intended to be left outside for any length of time.

  • Do I have to be home/onsite during delivery, installation, or freight shipping delivery?

    Yes, you must be home to sign and accept a delivery from Walston Door Company or through the freight shipping carrier. If you are not there at the scheduled delivery time or if you are late, the freight shipping carrier will charge a wait fee that you will be responsible for paying.

  • What if the crate is damaged during freight shipping?

    If the wooden crate is in bad shape when it arrives and there is good reason to suspect damage, please REFUSE it (and they will take it back to the terminal) or at the very least make sure the driver notates the damage directly on the delivery receipt. Walston Door Co. will need a copy/picture of the delivery receipt if we need to file a claim and you must notify us immediately if there is damage. If it is damaged in any way it must be inspected by a freight representative before it can be moved from the original drop off spot or else they will claim you can't prove that it didn't get damaged while you were moving it inside your home. Freight companies have very strict policies about claims so it is best to open the crate and inspect it completely before the driver leaves your property.

  • Will the freight carrier bring the door(s) into my home?

    No, please keep in mind that LTL deliveries are different than small package and they are only responsible for lowering the gate lift to your driveway. They are not responsible for helping you carry the crate into your home so we highly recommend having help available as it will be a couple hundred pounds.

  • Do you offer a warranty?

    Yes, we offer a one year manufacturers warranty. Please see order purchase contract and installation agreement terms & conditions for more details. Walston Door Company will not replace doors/hardware that break or bow as a result incorrect care and maintenance of the product.

  • What is your refund policy?

    All orders are custom and non-refundable. Every door is a made to order product and is considered custom-made and as such is not returnable. If in the rare case that we did not manufacture your custom door as you ordered, we will correct our error if you notify us on the day you pick-up your door, or the day of door delivery/installation. Please inspect your door upon arrival and notify us immediately of any problems. Due to the nature of wood there can be slight color/tonal differences from one piece of wood to another. These differences are natural and contribute to the beauty of our product which is why no refund will be issued based on these variations. Walston Door Company will not replace doors/hardware that break or bow as a result incorrect care and maintenance of the product. If you need to cancel your order and reach out before we have began production this will be considered case by case and refunded minus any credit card fees that have already been processed by placing the online order.
